Serving Survivors of Homicide Victims

Bonnita & VigilMD CASE’s very own Bonnita Spikes was honored for her “Outstanding Volunteer Contribution to Victim Services” at the 2012 Governor’s Victim Assistance Awards Luncheon. The annual event, sponsored by the Governor and the Maryland State Board of Victims Services, was held on May 4 in Fort Meade. Bonnita was appointed by Governor O'Malley to the Board in 2010.

In honoring Bonnita, the Board wrote:

After the murder of her husband Michael in 1994, Bonnita began to use her zealous and resilient enthusiasm to assist other murder victims’ families. She provides information and encouragement to crime victims’ families and helps identify new ways to expose victim survivors to all resources available to them. Bonnita’s positivity is contagious.”
